Planktons - pets of the future

Plankton are among the most essential organisms on Earth, producing over half of the planet’s oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide to help balance our climate. Drawing from their remarkable role in our environment, I reinterpret these microscopic forms into striking characters, beginning with vector-based designs in Illustrator that I then expand into 3D shapes.

Through imaginative character development and concept-driven creations — including plankton-inspired jewelry — my illustrations merge environmental storytelling with thoughtful design, turning the unseen into something tangible and playful. As a speculative design project, the work also imagines possible futures shaped by climate change, using art to explore how these tiny organisms might become more present in our daily lives.
